Healthy Breakfast Idea #1

Good Morning Sunshines!

I find it really difficult to get the nutritional breakfast I need without having to get out my bed earlier! I stumbled across this recipe idea on Pinterest. Also, with basic breakfast foods such as cereal, I find my tummy growling at me by around 10 am. These mini frittatas keep me full until lunch! Which is ideal when you have a busy job.

Ingredients
- Oil or butter
- 8 large eggs
- ½ cup whole or skimmed milk
- Salt & pepper
- 4 slices of turkey, chopped
- 1/3 cup grated cheese, cheddar or goats cheese is amazing!
- 2 spring onions
- ½ green pepper
- 2 handfuls of spinach
Total time to prepare and cook: 22 minutes.
Directions
Preheat the oven to 190°C.
Coat each cup on a mini muffin tray with either oil or butter. Whisk the eggs, milk, pepper, and salt in a large bowl to blend well. Stir in the turkey, cheese, and veg. Fill prepared muffin cups almost to the top with the egg mixture. Bake until the egg mixture puffs and is just set in the centre, about 15-20 minutes. Use a spoon to gently release the frittatas form the tray and either eat immediately or you can leave them to cool, and then put them in the fridge for breakfast. I heat mine up by popping two in the toaster which gives them the loveliest texture. I like to prepare a batch of these on a Sunday night as they last until Friday, which is perfect for a speedy breakfast.
These bad boys are about 30 calories each, so no need to feel guilty!! : )

My Fall Must Haves

Happy Monday everybody!

I noticed this morning on my way to work that its getting slightly chiller which made me realise that Autumn is just around the corner. Autumn is my favourite season due to the crisp air, beautiful colours and gorgeous smells.

Here are a few of my Autumn must haves...

Pumpkin Cupcake 14.5 oz. 3-Wick Candle - Slatkin & Co. - Bath & Body Works
Pumpkin cupcake candle which can be found here
I love Bath & Bodyworks candles, I'm from the UK, so I found it really difficult to obtain them. I usually either purchase mine from eBay or The Bath and Body Shop.

Cream (Cream) Cream Popcorn Knitted Snood | 288365713 | New Look
Cream popcorn knitted snood which can be found here
I find New Look scarves so cozy, and they're great value for money!

Luxury White Hot Chocolate
There nothing better than a mug of hot chocolate and the temperatures start to fall. Fill your favourite mug with Whittard's Luxury White Hot Chocolate and pop in some mini marshmallows.

And when it starts to get really cold, jump into a warm bath and dunk in one of these babies and watch the colours change. The twilight bath bomb has to be my favourite product from Lush.

What are your favourites for Fall? Let me know below as I love to try new products!!

My Love for Makeup...

This sounds a bit weird, but I can honestly say that make-up is like a hobby for me. Ever since I was allowed to start wearing make-up, I have loved to experiment with different colours and looks.

However, I have made some huge make-up no-nos in the past, but I think that you need to make these mistakes in order to teach yourself well.

MAC has always been a favourite of mine, but I love Clinique and other upper-end brands. Don't get me wrong though, I love your everyday makeup brands too! I only use Rimmel or Maybeline foundation because I feel that they are the best for my skin and they don't break the bank.

I've learned that blending is key...and you can never go wrong with a classic cat-eye...

But it's also fun to experiment with more vibrant colours. The blending in the photo below isn't that great but hey, that's all a part of the learning experience!

Whats your favourite make-up look? Natural or Glam? There's so many different looks you can achieve if you have the confidence to experiment.

So, go for it girls!

Birthday Haul...

Hello Lovelies!

Today I am going to talk about the amazing things I got for my birthday and a mini review on each. I was absolutely spoiled and appreciate every single thing I received - my family & boyfriend are so generous!

So here goes....

This was the lovely site I woke up to in the morning (excluding the wrapping paper), everything was from Guy. I had wanted the Pomegranate Noir perfume by Jo Malone for ages, so I was over the moon to get it! It smells wonderful! Its not something I would usually go for, as I feel that it is a little mature for me, but I think its such a classic scent.

He got me a cheeky little voucher for House of Fraser, so I could later purchase whatever MAC products my heart desired ;)

Guy also got me a couple of goodies from Lush. I have wanted 'its raining men' for ages because I LOVE the smell of honey!! You can also use it for your hair which makes my hair smell heavenly.

The second product Guy got me from Lush was the 'Whoosh' Shower Jelly. I haven't actually used this yet, but it smells so zingy! I can imagine it will work wonders in the morning to help wake me up!

So after we got up, had breakfast and got ready, as mentioned in my previous 'Birthday Lunch' post, we headed into Glasgow. We went to House of Fraser first (obv!) and I used my voucher to buy a new Ted Baker tote and MAC prep & prime in radiant rose. I have needed a new bag for work for quite a while so was very pleased to come across this little beauty!

After watching numerous beauty gurus on YouTube recommend this product, I had to have it! I have quite a pale complexion so the rose tint to this primer really compliments my skin. I use it under my eyes, brow bone and cupids bow to add just the right amount of highlight.

Guy's mum gave me some vouchers too, I haven't had a chance to use them all yet, but I managed to pick up a couple of things from Boots the other night after work. I had heard amazing things about the new Maybeline Baby Lips, and I can honestly say they are all true! Not only do these wee wonders smell sooo yummy, they really moisturise my lips and the pink one is very pigmented! The one on the right (Peach Kiss) is more of a clear lip balm. I only took a swatch of the Pink Punch as it is lovely bright hot pink colour and is more obvious than the Peach Kiss.

I also got the 'Soaper Heroes' gift set by Soap & Glory. I really wanted the hand food hand cream, but all the other products are fab. Especially the moisturising body mist. I already have the clean on me shower gel and the body butter, but I am excited to try the exfoliator!

Guys elder sister came round later on and brought me a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a gorgeous eye-shadow duo by Chanel. The duo is in No. 40 Misty - Soft. As you can see from the swatches below, one is a gorgeous shimmery violet colour and the other is a deep matte plum.

Wee birthday selfie :p

I had the best day ever and was truly spoiled. Now, seeing as my birthday is out the way, I can properly start looking forward to Halloween and Christmas!

Perfect Friday Night...

Champagne, strawberries & my wee doll <3

A typical day...

Hi folks!

I thought it would be a good idea to show you guys a typical day of my meal plan in action! Although some of the things I've had weren't mentioned in the meal plan in a previous post, they will be mentioned in meal plans in upcoming posts. So here goes....

For breakfast I had a small bowl of Greek yogurt with blueberries. I love this for breakfast as its quite light but keeps me going through till lunch!

My 'mid morning snack' was a cup of peppermint tea along with a handful of almonds (not shown). Peppermint tea is a great preventative force against catching bugs like the common cold or even the flu! It contains lots of potassium, calcium and vitamin B. I will usually have a mug of coffee in the morning but some mornings  I prefer a nice herbal tea to help flush out any toxins.

For lunch I had chicken, spinach & houmous wraps with a side of tomato and cucumber salad. This type of lunch usually keeps me full for the period of time before dinner.

I don't know about you guys, but I like to work out before bedtime. I have a shower at night before I go to sleep because I am always too tired to have one in the morning. I also feel like it relaxes me before I nod off. Anyways, I cheated a bit with this dinner as I was planning on having quite a vigorous workout later on. I had to burgers (no bun) along with a large salad, a hard boiled egg & curly fries - woops! But it was soooo good!

I usually try to have pieces of fruit or a yoghurt during the afternoon, but I was extremely busy at work that day!

I like these kind of posts as I am such a foodie and love taking pics of my food (exciting life) ha ha! My instagram is full of pictures similar to these, follow me & ill follow back ;)

My Birthday Lunch....

On August, 13th of this year, I turned 23...

And I had the best birthday ever! Just everything about that day was wonderful. Guy and I took the day off work and had a long lie. He gave me my presents (which will be mentioned in an upcoming post titled 'Birthday haul') then we got ready and headed out for lunch. We found this truly wonderful restaurant in the West End called Stravaigin, and it served some of the best food I have ever had! Here's some pics of my lovely lunch : )

Guy had the Thai mussels, they were absolutely gorgeous! They were served in a spicy Thai broth which was similar to tom yum soup!

I love lamb, but Guy hates it so I rarely get the chance to have it! So I got the lamb shoulder with apricots, mint hummus and pea shoots....lovely.

For our mains, I had the pork belly with sweet potatoes, greens and a jus.

Guy had the confit duck leg with smoked potato disks, greens and beetroot.

We rarely have desert when we are out cause we get sooo full! But this lemon and oatmeal ice cream sounded to goo to resist! We shared it and it was beautiful.

Me&him.

Have any of you been to any really good restaurants that you want to share? Lemme' know!

xoxo

My Fitness Pal

Good morning lovelies!

Sooo, this is just a quick post to tell you guys about this amazing app I downloaded to my iphone! It's called 'my fitness pal' and it helps keep track of your calorie intake. I wish I had discovered it sooner! Anyways, I don't feel like I need to shed the pounds or anything like that, but my boyfriend and I have been eating really unhealthy lately, I.e. takeaways almost 3 times a week! So this app is really just a method to enable me to keep track of my calories to make sure I am eating the right foods.

You guys HAVE to download it!

The other night Guy (my boyfriend)) made some really yummy salmon & scallops! It was delish and only 433 calories! Yum! 😋

I failed a bit last night as we had lasagne which was 500 calories a portion...woops! But it was soooo good!

If you guys have any healthy dinner ideas, please let me know!

Pretty Little Things

A couple of weeks ago I went home to visit my mum. She took me and my boyfriend out for lunch then took us to a lovely little antiques shop where we picked up a couple of things for the flat. I absolutely adore the shabby chic look just now, so the majority of our items were just that.

My dressing table was purchased out of that antique shop when we first moved in....

Out little bedside column was the perfect location for our new bird cage mirror.

This is the storm lantern we got, which was our favourite find! We placed some church pillar candles inside and it looks beautiful at night. I think some fairy lights would look gorgeous inside it at Christmas time...

What do you guys think? : )

xoxo

Ps. Almost forgot to include this unique little piece...the birdcage and column were also bought from the antique shop but the little owl was purchased from the garden centre where we had lunch : )
