35 Random Questions Tag!

Hi guys!

 

It is soooo difficult for me to write good posts while I'm on my lunch break so I usually just do tags! Some I have actually been tagged or some I have just found on the internet. But I promise I'll get some good posts up this weekend, PINKY PROMISE!

1.Do you have a middle name?
Yep, its Amanda : )

2. What was your favourite subject in school?
I had three! P.E., Art and Home Economics.

3. What’s your favourite drink? 
I love Pellegrino lemonade and Naked Juice - Green Machine, Yum! Oh, and COFFEE of course!!

 4. Favourite song at the moment? 
Lana Del Ray's song 'young and beautiful'. Its so haunting <3

 5. What would you name your children? 
Arianna or Hayley for a girl and either Struan or Joshua for a boy.

 6. Do you participate in any sports? 
Before I went to uni, I used to do loads of horse riding. But now, I just work out. Don't really have the time for sports!

 7. Favourite Book?
Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen and the Hunger Games trilogy.

8. Favourite Colour? 
Yellow :)

 9. Favourite Animal?
 I have loads! Horses, kittens, Nemooo, penguins and owls! I like puffins too!

Hugo Boss Orange for Women is my all time favourite!

 11. Favourite holiday? 
This wasn't necessarily a holiday, but my boyfriend and I went to Inverness for the night and it was the best time I've ever had <3

 12. Have you graduated High School? 
Yeah, I left school in 2008! Graduated from uni this year too!

 13. Have you been out of the Country? 
Lots of times :)

 14. Do you speak any other Languages? 
No, I am the worst at languages!

 15. Do you have any siblings? 
I've got two big sisters, Emma and Nyree.

 16. What’s your favourite store? 
I love the Disney shop, Primark and republic (I think its closed down now though *sad face*.

 17. Favourite Restaurant? 
Stathvaigin in the West End of Glasgow - its ah-maze-inngg!

 18. Did you like school?
Yeah, I really enjoyed it. I made some really good friends that I hope to have for the rest of my life <3

Again, I have lots! Finding Nemo, Coraline, Practical Magic, Legally Blonde, the Twilight films....the list is endless.

 20. Favourite TV show? 
PRETTY LITTLE LIARS (without a doubt)! I love Nashville, Catfish and True blood too ;)

 21. Pc or Mac? 
PC at the moment, but I would really like a Mac, but they're sooooo expensive!

 22. What phone do you have?
The iPhone 5 :)

I think I'm either 5"3 or 5"4.

 

24. What do you order at Starbucks? 
I either have a caramel macchiato or a skinny vanilla latte depending on my mood! But I simply adore the festive coffees they do including gingerbread lattes and pumpkin spiced lattes....yummy!!!

My Kitten, Lilly! It's her favourite hiding place :D

 26. What’s one thing most people probably don’t know about you?
My real name is Lucinda, BOKE! Lucy is my shortened name that everyone calls me though :)

 27. Name one thing you want to do before you die… 
Have babies :)

 28. What’s one food you cannot live without? 
Kettle Chips, just the lightly salted ones..mmmm.

 29. What quote/phrase do you live by?
Probably 'by the way' or 'at the end of the day', lol!

30. What’s your most listened to song on iTunes?
Probably Lana Del Ray's 'Young and Beautiful'.

31. What kind of style would you define yourself as having?
Scruffball! Ha ha, joking! Probably comfy chic LOL!

32. Favourite number?
13, unlucky for some but lucky for me! I was born on the 13th ;)

 33. Two Hobbies?
Blogging and doing my makeup :) That sounds weird as a hobby but I love creating new looks!

 34. Two Pet Peeves?
People that breathe really loudly and Guy (my boyfriend) not picking up after himself!

35. Guilty Pleasures?
Hollyoaks, I know some people (Guy) can't stand it, but I'm addicted! The acting can be a bit cringey sometimes but the storylines makeup for it!

Beauty Blogger Tag

I saw this tag on Chloe's blog (http://www.chloesway.com/

) and decided to give it a whirl! I thought it would be quite good to show you guys what blogging means to me and why I got into it! I also love getting feedback from all you beautiful girls whenever I do a tag post!

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?

I started blogging in February, but didn't properly get into the swing of it until August as I had to take a break from it after February because I had all my uni exams, started a new job and I graduated. So I was a little busy bee for those few months! I decided to start blogging as I am absolutely obsessed with all things girly! I love makeup, fashion and décor. I got the inspiration from YouTube beauty gurus, I've been watching them for quite a while and love what they do. I found that they all had blogs and so I thought it would be fun for me to do as I don't have the confidence to do YouTube! I love sharing beauty tips and tricks with my friends so I thought it would be great to do via blogging. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to make new friends :)

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?

Probably Zoella's and Elle & Blair Fowlers old blog, not to mention Lauren Conrad's! Lauren's is just pure perfection!

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?

I've not actually done this yet! I need to though!

What are your five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty Blogger?

1. Writing posts - I used to thoroughly enjoy writing when I was younger and being able to write about what I love is really a magical experience : )

2. Reviewing products - Although I haven't actually received any products from company's yet, I really enjoy reviewing my own products that I have purchased. It makes me really evaluate the product and appreciate it more.

3. Meeting new people - I love following new blogs and following bloggers on twitter. Everyone is so lovely and I really hope to make some good friends through blogging!

4. Reading comments - I love the feedback I get from everyone, its such a nice feeling to have someone you've never met read your blog and actually like it enough to tell you they like it!

5. Reading other blogs - I love reading other peoples blogs - their style of writing, what they like to review, I find them all really inspiring.

What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger? 

As I am new to the game, I haven't had the opportunity to learn an extreme amount yet! But so far, I've learnt that there are some really lovely bloggers out there and that everyone is entitled to their own opinion - which is why I love reviews so much! I love reading peoples reviews on products that don't necessarily appeal to me. They always somehow manage to win me over!

Have you changed anything since becoming a Beauty Blogger? 

I've changed the name of my blog as I thought 'Lucy Loves...' sounds more appealing than L.A.X (Lucy Amanda X). Think my old name sounded like something you would use for constipation ha ha!

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out? 

Keep on going! I know at first it can be a bit daunting when you see that other people have thousands of followers and you have zero! It makes you think that what you're writing just isn't that appealing. That's not the case at all! I like to look at my blog as a baby growing...lol! Obviously a baby isn't going to have tonnes of friends at first, but after it develops it will gain some genuine friends! : )

Beauty Things I Suck At!

Morning love bugs!

 

The gorgeous Leah at http://www.painteddaisies.co.uk  has tagged me in this delightful little post...Beauty things I SUCK at! Oh, to name a few...in all honesty though, you're never gonna do something perfect first time and practice does make perfect. However, there are things that I just cannot do! No matter how many times I practice it, have a look below and let me know if you struggle with these things too in the comments : )

#1 - Liquid liner

I can never do the perfect winged cat eye. One eye is always perfect and the exact thickness I want, but the other eye ALWAYS decides to be difficult! But not only is the application of liquid liner a no-can-do in my book, on the odd occasion where it actually looks okay, my eyes always decide to run in the outer corners if they so much as get a blink of sunlight. Its an absolute pain in the bahookie! So my solution? Eyeshadow & a skinny brush! That's what I like to do to line my eyes, not only is it much easier to apply and doesn't make my eyes water but it looks amazing and gives off a really smokey effect.

 

#2 - Painting my nails on my right hand

Similar to one of Leah's answers, I honestly cannot do it. Its so difficult. I have an excuse though! My hands like to shake from time to time. I think it may have something to do with how much sugar I consume. I get shaky hands in the morning and sometimes after I've eaten later on in the day. I've never went to the doctors about it because my mum sometimes gets it too. But yeah, I think that reason contributes to the lack of precision I seem to have when painting the nails on my right hand.

 

#3 - Applying shimmer/glitter

When it comes to applying a slight shimmer on the lid, cheek bones or shoulder, I am THEE WORST person ever to be in charge. I absolutely LOVE glitter, so if you hand me a pot of the sparkly stuff I cannot be responsible for my actions. There is no such thing as a shimmer when I'm in charge. Whenever I do decide to apply a little sparkle I end up looking like a disco ball.

 

So that's about it guys, I think I am actually okay with regards to everything else. If I think of something or remember something I am really bad at, I'll add it to the post.
